Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and festive season! My new years resolution? To keep up to date with my blog!
As soon as the theme ‘Best of British’ was discussed, I knew I wanted to document that peculiarly British passion – allotmenting. Luckily a friend of mine has a patch near Cheddar, and she introduced me to the fabulous character that is Brian the allotment guru. A reluctant subject, but so photogenic! I followed him around for an hour on a cloudy morning in July, and loved every minute.
I have recently joined the fabulous new Axbridge Photographic Club – our first project was on the theme of ‘Linea’. As a professional photographer I think it’s easy to get out of the habit of creating images for your own enjoyment. I never want to lose sight of what attracted me to photography, and so I am determined to carve out the time and headspace to complete these personal projects.
Kerry of the gorgeous Angel’s Kitchen recently created this showcase cake – a fake cake – to demonstrate her incredible icing skills. I just love the detail… Everything is handcrafted, including the lace and flowers. We set up a scene in Kerry’s back garden using vintage props and flowers collected from her borders.
